Jan Jan
PADI Dive Instructor
Jan Jan, is one of Free Willy Diving’s most popular and highly praised instructors. Specializing in guiding beginners, he has a natural gift for making first-time divers feel completely at ease.
Guests consistently rave about his patience, clear communication, and reassuring presence underwater. Whether it’s your very first dive or you’re nervous about going deeper, Jan Jan’s calm and supportive style helps everyone feel safe and confident.
His excellent hand signals and ability to explain everything in a fun, easy-to-understand way have made him a favorite among many returning guests.
Fun fact: Jan Jan is originally from the Philippines and has been part of the Free Willy family for many years, helping hundreds of divers discover the magic of the underwater world.
Willy
Owner & Founder
Originally from France, Willy fell in love with Boracay and made it his home many years ago. What began as a passion for diving grew into one of the island’s most respected PADI 5-Star centers — Free Willy Diving.
With over 27 years at the helm, Willy is known for his exceptional organization, warm hospitality, and genuine love for diving. His simple philosophy says it all: “We run this business only because we love to dive.”
Guests consistently praise his friendly nature and deep knowledge of Boracay’s dive sites. He personally ensures everyone feels welcome and well cared for.
Fun fact: Willy speaks English, French, and German, and many of his staff have been with him for over a decade — proof of the family atmosphere he’s created.
Rey
PADI Diver Instructor
Rey is one of Free Willy Diving’s most beloved dive guides. With years of experience and a deep passion for the ocean, Rey is known for creating fun, safe, and truly unforgettable dives.
Guests consistently describe him as a true professional, expert diver, and genuinely great person. Whether you’re exploring vibrant reefs or drifting along dramatic walls, Rey’s enthusiasm and expert guidance make every dive special.

Rhonic
Dive Master
Rhonic has been a valued member of the Free Willy Diving team since 2017. As a dedicated Divemaster, he brings years of experience and a genuine passion for showing divers the beauty of Boracay’s underwater world.
Known for his professionalism and friendly approach, Rhonic is a favorite among guests who appreciate his calm guidance and attention to detail. Whether exploring colorful reefs or searching for macro life, he ensures every dive is safe, enjoyable, and memorable.
His long-term commitment to the team reflects the strong family atmosphere at Free Willy Diving.
Fun fact: Rhonic has been guiding divers at Free Willy for over 8 years and is especially skilled at finding hidden marine creatures that many divers miss!
Laura
Dive Master Trainee
Laura is the proud daughter of Free Willy Diving’s founder, Willy Berger. Growing up around the dive shop, she has always been surrounded by the ocean and the passion for diving that defines the Free Willy family.
Currently training to become a certified Divemaster, Laura is learning the ropes from some of Boracay’s most experienced instructors. Her enthusiasm, friendly personality, and natural connection to the sea make her a wonderful addition to the team.
Guests often appreciate her warm welcome and genuine excitement about sharing Boracay’s underwater world with new divers.
Fun fact: Laura grew up right above the dive shop and has been part of Free Willy Diving since she was a child — making her a true “daughter of the sea”!
Jaymar and Reymar
Boat Captain & Motor Man
Jaymar and Reymar are the dynamic duo behind Free Willy Diving’s boat operations. As Captain and Motor Man, they work seamlessly together to ensure every trip is safe, smooth, and on time.
Jaymar, the Captain, brings years of experience navigating Boracay’s waters. His calm leadership and expert knowledge of the dive sites help guests feel secure from the moment they step on board.
Reymar, the Motor Man, is always ready with a smile and quick hands — keeping the engine running perfectly and assisting with everything from mooring to helping divers in and out of the water.
Together, they form the reliable backbone of every dive trip. Their teamwork, professionalism, and friendly personalities are a big reason why guests love the Free Willy experience from start to finish.

Joy
Admin Staff
Joy is the friendly face that welcomes guests at Free Willy Diving. As the admin staff, she handles bookings, answers questions, and makes sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
But Joy is perhaps best known for her delicious after-dive meals! Many guests rave about the tasty food she prepares, which has become a highlight of the Free Willy experience after a long day in the water.
Her warm personality and attention to detail help create the welcoming, family-like atmosphere that Free Willy Diving is known for.
Fun fact: Joy’s cooking has become so popular that many divers say her after-dive spread is one of the best parts of their day!
Marj
Dive Shop Manager
Marj is the friendly and efficient face of Free Willy Diving’s daily operations. As the Dive Shop Manager, she oversees the shop, handles bookings, and ensures every guest receives a warm welcome and smooth experience from the moment they arrive.
What makes Marj special is that she is also a qualified diver herself, holding both Advanced and Rescue Diver certifications. This hands-on experience gives her deep insight into what divers need — whether it’s advice on dive sites, equipment recommendations, or tips for a better underwater experience.
Her dedication, knowledge, and positive energy play a big part in creating the welcoming, family-run atmosphere that Free Willy Diving is loved for.
